Man From Snowy River Bush Festival

The Man from Snowy River Bush Festival is an annual event in Corryong, and is a celebration of the region’s rich heritage. Named after the famous poem by Banjo Paterson, the festival plays tribute to the stockmen and their horses from the high country, along with the spririt of the Australian bush. Attracting thousands of visitors, the festival transform the picturesque town of Corryong at the foot of the Snowy Mountains with live entertainment, competitions and historical reenactments.

The Upper Murray Events Centre and surrounding sports oval is at the heart of the festival and we were lucky enough to take a weekend trip to experience all that it has to offer, and to see the centre being well utilised for such an important community event.
