Buchan Recreation Reserve official opening

We took a drive out to Buchan in East Gippsland on Sunday to be part of the opening celebrations of the recreation reserve. It was great to see the local community coming together to support this project which includes the new pavilion, change rooms and sports facilities which will host a variety of sporting and community events. The facility has also been designed to serve as an emergency relief centre.

Many volunteers, local residents, sports club members and others from the broader community have worked hard for many years behind the scenes advocating for the facility which will become a central focal point for community gatherings, and respite during emergencies.

Members from East Gippsland Shire Council, State and Federal ministers were in attendance to experience the warm hospitality of the local Buchan community.
