Albury House

Our clients requested a new single storey extension to their 1920’s red brick California bungalow which would provide them with an open plan living and kitchen and lounge area. The extension also includes a new master bedroom, ensuite, family bathroom, sewing room, rumpus room and laundry.

There is a strong focus on the use of authentic, natural materials combined with large open internal spaces and windows postioned to maximise the amount of light into the building.

The new structure features beautifully expressed laminated timber beams using Australian native hardwood species. A striking curved tiled pantry wall and Italian granite benchtops add vibrancy and texture to the kitchen.

We also designed a large garage and workshop with a mezzanine level which complements the house by using the same external material palette.
