Camberwell House
Our clients requested a double storey extension to create more open spaces for their family.
The compact Victorian terrace site required a clever design that increased the internal living spaces whilst maintaining the existing ground floor footprint, allowing the size of the garden to not be compromised.
Our aim was to maintain the feel and similar aesthetic of the original home, ensuring the extension embraced this instead of feeling like a modern ‘add on’. It was important to us and our clients to use natural materials which flowed into each space. Recycled brick internal feature walls and locally sourced Black Butt timber cladding was used internally and externally.
“ When the renovation was complete and during the build, the structure, design, use of angles and views completely surprised us, and we just love how all the different materials blend together to create a warm and inviting home. The renovation has improved the way we live and work.”
