Jamieson Way Community Centre & Kindergarten
This project represents the first phase of a two-stage development in Point Cook. The design includes the redevelopment and expansion of an existing community centre, prompted by the growing needs of kindergarten and community programs that have exceeded the centre’s original capacity.
A primary objective of the design brief was to re-establish a welcoming entry point to the building, ensuring clear sight lines from both the car park and the road. The administration area has been redesigned and extended to include a foyer with reception space.
Central to the redevelopment is the addition of another kindergarten room and new maternal and child health consultation rooms. The facility also features a community café with commercial kitchen.
Circulation corridors connect through the building providing a rational flow between the community activity zones. High-level windows have been incorporated to maximize natural light throughout the centre’s interior.
