Melville Oval Pavilion & Grandstand
This project aims to revitalise Hamilton's recreational precinct by upgrading Council sporting facilities and public spaces.
The existing grandstand and oval are identified as being of historic significance within the Victorian Heritage Register. The grandstand was constructed in 1905 and has local significance and historical associations with various sports and recreation activities.
We worked with a heritage architect to ensure the new pavilion was sympathetic in its design, material and colour selection to the old grandstand.
The pavilion features a function room, kitchen, kiosk, change-rooms, public toilets, office, and storage. New sports facilities include two netball courts with covered spectator areas, competition lighting, and upgraded amenities for players and umpires.
